I’m in the holiday glow. There is nothing better than stepping outside your house and doing something different – that involves NO washing, ironing or any form of chore. There is nothing better than a break.
We decided to do a road trip this time for a few days down the Great Ocean Road. What a beautiful part of the world it is. Long windy roads looking at over a beautiful coastline, peppered with gorgeous little towns along with way. Stunning.
At one point, Hubby was keen to find some bloody waterfall on the Otway Rainforest. We were driving through all these back roads. No waterfalls to be found. Then after 30 mins we found a sign and a carpark. We thought we must be there. Ummm no. It was a sign that the waterfall was now on foot – and you will find it in 40 minutes. Pass.
However on the way back to civilisation I felt like a professional photographer taking this amazing shot. It had been raining so this is the mist from the rain and you can see from the darkness we were truly in the heart of the rainforest.
Next we thought we would have to do the 12 Apostles. What a natural phenomenon. The only problem was when we arrived it was torrential rain. . We had come all this way. What to do. What to do. So we thought we would go for it. Bought two ponchos (seriously unattractive attire) put our daughter underneath in the Bjorn and made a run for it. It was an amazing sight – even with the rain.
We popped past Apollo Bay and checked out their local market. I have to say I’m always a fan of a market. You have to support the local community – their food and little goodies were amazing. We came away with a few items before the rain started to set in – check out that black cloud coming over!
So I’m back to chores now. Damn. Ok time to book another holiday – quick!
When was the last time you had a break? Did you book a holiday as soon as you got back?
